Our client, that have private equity backing, is revolutionizing the way consumers and businesses in their sector access finance.
Nearly 5 years since the company was founded, they are about to launch another new product and anticipate further rapid growth as a result!
A summary of the role:
Due to their sustained, and further expected, growth, they are looking for a Qualified Accountant ready for the next career leap to take on this Finance Manager position in this fast-growing, dynamic financial services company.
Reporting directly to the CFO, the successful candidate will oversee day-to-day financial controls, payment processing, management accounting, liquidity management, payroll, and reporting. In addition, this candidate will play a pivotal role in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and strategic projects such as debt and equity raising.
This is a genuinely exciting opportunity for a Finance Manager to be involved in the full breadth of finance, as part of a small and close-knit finance team that is genuinely valued by the organisation and offers the successful candidate a chance to have a real impact on business growth.
Main responsibilities will include:
- Manage purchase ledger and payroll, including invoice processing, expense management, payment preparation, and reconciliations.
- Maintaining the general ledger, creating necessary reports and oversee the sales ledger, maintaining and reconciling records and accounts receivable
- Monitor cash flows, conduct daily bank processes, and assist with financial modelling for budgets, forecasts, and strategic projects
- Prepare month-end journals, reconcile P&L and B/S accounts
- Produce high-quality month-end finance reports and management accounts.
- Support the preparation of statutory accounts and coordinate the year-end audit process
The successful candidate will bring:
- Exceptional organizational skills and a systematic approach to problem-solving
- An ability to produce high-quality work within tight deadlines
- Strong numeracy skills, attention to detail, and a particular proficiency with Microsoft Excel
- Experience of working in industry is essential, ideally in an SME or start-up
- A full Accountancy Qualification (e.g., ACCA, ACA, or CIMA).
- Experience in consolidation accounting and statutory reporting with some experience in budgeting and forecasting
- Experience in financial services regulated by the FCA is not essential, but highly desirable
