The role:
This is a maternity cover with the opportunity for a comprehensive handover at the start and end of this 18 month fixed term contract. Please note you must be able to start at short notice / immediately and work 4 days in the office with home working on a Friday.
Purpose of the role
- As Finance Manager, your responsibilities will include overseeing end-to-end finance operations, financial planning and analysis, balance sheet reconciliations, making sure procedures are in compliance to SOX control, company policy and UK GAAP, as well as ad-hoc projects and requests as and when they come up
- Manage SOX and Statutory Audit Process with external and internal auditors
Key Responsibilities
- Leading the team responsible for AP, AR and Payroll, to make sure that finance operations are effective
- Work with Financial Controller to Manage both SOX and Statutory Audit process with both Internal and External Auditors. Drive the continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practice
- Prepare Statutory Accounts
- Prepare and/or post monthly accruals, rebates, prepayments and similar accounting entries
- Produce month end P&L and review results for sign off by Financial controller and MD
- Leading the analysis of monthly and quarterly numbers and presenting findings to management
- Produce Tax analysis for benefits in kind and corporation tax
- Manage VAT and HMRC reporting
- Dealing with working capital management and production of cash flow forecasts
- Managing an end-to-end audit process of current systems – while acting as the first point of contact for external auditors
- Support Budgeting and forecasting
Who we're looking for:
- Strong technical accounting knowledge, capable of creating statutory accounts
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with post qualification experience
- Strong Excel skills and ability to analyse large volumes of data
- Experience of ERP systems like Dynamic 365, OneStream, Power BI, Basware or similar
- Experience of AP and AR
- Experience running annual audit
- Strong people skills with team leadership experience, ability to delegate and manage the work of others
