About the Job

This is a key role central to the production of management accounts for both the trading business and the parent company. The position offers a diverse range of responsibilities within the monthly accounting cycle, providing an opportunity to make a significant impact.

Duties will include:

  • Preparing working papers and posting journals for monthly accounts.
  • Maintaining and updating the Fixed Asset and Hire Purchase Registers.
  • Submitting surveys to the Office for National Statistics.
  • Reconciling nominal accounts and calculating staff commissions and bonuses.
  • Producing reports for monitoring departmental KPIs.

About the Successful Applicant

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bookkeeping and a solid understanding of double-entry accounting. With at least five years of experience in a similar role, they will possess excellent computer skills, particularly in Excel (e.g., VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables), and hold a minimum AAT qualification. Familiarity with Xero software is beneficial but not essential. Attention to detail, and commercial awareness are critical for success.
