About the Job
As an Accounts Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the Finance Manager with a variety of financial and administrative tasks. This position is ideal for someone detail-oriented, with a strong foundation in accounting and a proactive attitude.
Duties will include:
- Managing the sales ledger, including credit control, generating manual invoices, and preparing debtor reports.
- Handling daily cashbook transactions, such as posting receipts and reconciling accounts.
- Assisting with the purchase ledger, supplier reconciliations, and payment runs.
- Supporting ledger activities, including credit card transactions and VAT reconciliations
- Preparing financial and operational reports
- Undertaking general administrative tasks and ad-hoc duties as required.
About the Successful Applicant
The ideal candidate will have at least two years of bookkeeping and accountancy experience, with AAT Level 2 or equivalent. Proficiency in Sage 200, intermediate/advanced Excel skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment are essential. A logical, problem-solving mindset and strong communication skills are also required.
